Milei and Netanyahu

Argentine President Javier Milei congratulated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Thursday evening on his election victory and Likud's emergence as Israel's largest party.

"Congratulations, my dear friend Benjamin Netanyahu, on the magnificent victory of the Likud party, which has once again become the leading force in Israel," Milei wrote in Spanish on social media. "You have proven once more the strength of your leadership, even in the face of all the polls and forecasts that were against you."

The Argentine leader pledged that "Argentina and Israel will continue to be strategic allies against all those who challenge our Western values." Milei closed his post with the phrase that has become his signature: "Viva la Libertad, carajo!" ("Long live freedom, damn it!")

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was the first world leader to praise Netanyahu on his election performance Wednesday night, publishing a message describing Likud's success as a stunning achievement that surprised many. "Congratulations to Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Likud party on winning the Israeli elections!" he wrote. "You have once again managed to defy all predictions, defeat every model, and prove your critics wrong. I look forward to seeing you continue as Prime Minister of Israel. Congratulations on this amazing victory, my friend!"
