Trump’s remarks came as the United States continued trying to halt the renewed fighting between Israel and Iran while pushing for a broader diplomatic arrangement with Tehran.

US President Donald Trump expressed optimism overnight about the war with Iran and the parallel diplomatic efforts, saying Washington could soon announce what he called a “total victory” over Tehran.

Trump said talks with Iran were moving in a positive direction and claimed the Iranians were showing willingness to reach major understandings with the United States.

“They want to reach a very good agreement,” Trump said. “They are ready to give us everything. They are ready for them not to have nuclear weapons.”

The president predicted that the campaign against Iran could reach a decisive moment soon.

“Over the next two weeks, we will announce total victory,” Trump said. “It will be a total victory. It will happen very soon, and oil prices will plunge.”

Trump’s remarks came as the United States continued trying to halt the renewed fighting between Israel and Iran while pushing for a broader diplomatic arrangement with Tehran.

The comments followed a day of Iranian missile fire toward Israel, Israeli strikes in Iran and growing American pressure for an immediate ceasefire. Iran later announced a halt to its launches toward Israel, while warning that further Israeli action, including in southern Lebanon, could bring a stronger response.

Vice President J.D. Vance also addressed the issue in an interview with Fox News, saying the United States and Israel share many interests but are not always aligned on every question.

Vance said the Trump administration’s central goal remains preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and that Washington believes it has created room for a long-term arrangement on the Iranian nuclear issue.

He added that Israel may or may not support every part of a future agreement, but that the administration will act according to what it sees as the best interest of the United States.

The message from Washington is increasingly clear: the Trump administration is seeking a quick end to the current escalation, combined with a diplomatic framework that it believes can block Iran’s nuclear ambitions and stabilize the region.
