Multiple explosions were reported across Iran overnight, with witnesses describing sustained strikes in and around several major cities.

Accounts collected by opposition-linked media and regional outlets described heavy blasts in southern Tehran early Sunday, with residents saying several neighborhoods of the capital appeared to be hit. In Shiraz, witnesses reported a rapid succession of explosions over a short span, with some placing the strikes near the city’s airport and a nearby airbase.

Further south, videos circulating online appeared to show thick smoke rising from the area of Jask Port in Hormozgan province, close to the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically sensitive zone already under intense scrutiny because of the war’s effect on shipping and energy traffic.

Additional reports in Israel described smoke columns rising over Isfahan, suggesting another strike in central Iran.

At the same time, US Central Command released video saying B-52 Stratofortress bombers had taken part in overnight attacks on Iranian targets during what it called a night mission.

The full extent of the damage was not immediately clear, and Iranian authorities had not issued a comprehensive public accounting of the reported strikes by early Sunday. Still, the pattern of reports pointed to a broad overnight wave hitting military, transport or strategic sites in several parts of the country.
