Lions' Den Operative Arrested in Nablus by Israeli Forces

Israeli special forces arrested a senior terror suspect in the city of Nablus overnight Sunday into Monday, security officials announced. The operation was carried out by Yamam, Israel's national counterterrorism unit, based on precise intelligence provided by the Shin Bet internal security service.

The 37-year-old detainee is wanted for his past involvement with the Lions' Den, a terror group that operated in Nablus until Israeli security forces dismantled it in 2022. According to security sources, the suspect has been actively working to advance significant terrorist activity and has made repeated attempts to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians.

Acting on the intelligence tip, Yamam operatives planned a complex arrest operation. The forces approached the suspect's residence covertly, surprising him at his home. The arrest was executed without incident and with full professionalism, officials said.

The detainee has been transferred to Shin Bet custody for further interrogation. Security officials emphasized that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to thwart terrorist activity and prevent attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces.

While the Lions' Den organization was broken up by Israeli forces in 2022, some of its operatives have continued working to advance terror plots. This latest arrest joins a series of detentions and operational activities targeting terrorist infrastructure in the Samaria region of the West Bank. Security officials confirmed that no Israeli forces were injured during the operation.
