Trump Becomes the President Who Threatens But Never Delivers

The second term of the most controversial president in history proves one thing: Trump simply does not care about anything except himself

President Donald Trump

The flip-flop policy of President Trump is putting stock market traders under intense pressure, and raising the blood pressure of his senior administration officials and opponents alike. The second term of the most controversial president in history proves one thing: Trump simply does not care about anything except himself.

The U.S. president keeps threatening Iran, which once again hardens its negotiation terms and threatens to reimpose a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, Trump releases funds to Iran with uncharacteristic generosity and tweets on his social network that he actually wants peace and is interested in meeting Mojtaba Khamenei in the not-so-distant future.

Between the Goal and the Gulf

Additionally, Trump is hosting the 2026 World Cup, and was probably very happy that the Iranian team was already eliminated in the group stage. Even when the team from Tehran arrived to the United States, he stationed them in Mexico and did not allow the Iranian players to stay on U.S. territory beyond the actual game time. A model host indeed.

And there is also the never-ending problem in the Persian Gulf that gives Trump a major headache, and at his age, that's dangerous. The security situation at the Strait of Hormuz is tenser than ever, like a spring that never releases, and if it releases, it could hit a lot of people or, in this case, giant tankers with oil, or as it's known in the business world, "The Black Gold."

Crying Wolf in the Gulf

Following American attacks against Iranian targets in the south of the country, Tehran launched missiles and drones toward Bahrain and Kuwait.

President Trump, with his characteristic indifference, warned that he might abandon the talks and move to a decision through "military means" if results are not achieved.

It is clear that Iran was not moved by this vague threat, because the Iranian media, just like the Israeli media, no longer takes President Trump seriously. He has become the boy from the fairy tale who cries "wolf, wolf," and in the end, instead of a wolf, turns into an innocent sheep whose entire action is to tweet an occasional sentence that is the furthest thing from the truth and disconnected from reality.

The Midterm Obsession

For example, Trump said in complete seriousness that the main definition of a ceasefire is that people shoot a little less. It is difficult for the U.S. president to understand simple terms like a ceasefire, where you basically cease firing. Political commentators in the United States are requested to keep up with the pace of the reversals of the U.S. president, who changes his mind every few hours, and luckily for Trump he has good advisors who stop him from doing everything he wants. They even doubt if Trump himself knows what he wants.

T.A.C.O (Trump Always Chicken Out) All week

Probably the main thing Trump wants right now is to get through the midterm elections safely and receive the Nobel Peace Prize next year. For that, he needs to make a significant peace, and that is a bit difficult without losing to Iran and making the world think that the Ayatollah's regime in Tehran managed to humiliate the strongest leader in the world.

Even astrologers can't predict how the virtual arm-wrestling round between the U.S. and Iran will end. What is certain is that we can rely on President Trump to continue generating contradictory and mostly illogical headlines every Tuesday, and also to prove again why they call him "Taco" behind his back, not only on Tuesday but all week long.
