Cenk Uygur

Cenk Uygur is an American political commentator, media entrepreneur, and founder of The Young Turks (TYT), one of the largest online progressive news and commentary platforms. Born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1970, Uygur immigrated to the United States as a child and grew up in New Jersey. He is married to Wendy Lang, with whom he has two children. Before entering media, Uygur worked as an attorney and business executive, but found his calling in political commentary and journalism.

As the creator and host of The Young Turks, which launched in 2002, Uygur has built a media empire that reaches millions of viewers through YouTube and other digital platforms. The show pioneered the format of long-form political discussion on the internet, predating many mainstream media outlets' digital strategies.
