Magal: parting ways with co-host after vote

Yinon Magal confirms he and Ben Caspit will end their joint radio show after the elections: All the crude and coarse talk was pulling me into something I don't want to be

Channel 14 host Yinon Magal confirmed Wednesday on a Channel 14 panel that he and Ben Caspit will stop broadcasting together on Radio 103FM immediately after the elections, and that their professional partnership is ending.

"I've decided that after the elections the program is coming off, b'ezrat Hashem," Magal said. He explained the reason: "There are red lines you don't cross, and I felt that all this violent talk, the crudeness, the coarseness and the cursing, was pulling me into something I wasn't before."

Magal added: "I felt that Ben was pulling me into this thing and I don't want it."

During their show earlier this week, on Monday, Magal had said: "I think we've exhausted this. Look, until the elections nobody's cutting anything, because we need to do the work. But I don't feel anymore that I can broadcast with a person like you. Your whole base is telling you not to broadcast with a person like me. Let's do the elections, see who wins, and think about whether we're continuing the show. No?"

Caspit agreed with Magal and said: "It's funny. That's exactly the conclusion I reached with the CEO a few months ago. Look how things work out in the end and fall into place. There was a period when I left, I had exactly these thoughts, and we agreed we'd get to the elections and think about it. You've burst through a very open door."

Magal responded: "I think we've reached our breaking point,"and Caspit replied: "Yes, it's a shame we reached our breaking point so late."
