Behind the Spin: What Netanyahu Really Fears
Bibi the Bolshevik? How to Fake a War Against the Deep-State
Netanyahu staged a battle against the "deep state" and collapsed completely, dragging Ben Gvir down with him. The sad part is - it was all planned in advance.

After the failed dismissal of Ronen Bar, and the failed attempt to dismiss Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, it turns out (unsurprisingly for those who really follow israeli politics for the past 25 years) that it was all a distraction meant to appease the base, which has been aware at this point that Israel will not win in Gaza, so the minimum is to try and show some semblance of governance with what is left of the crumbling state of Israel.
As is known, Israel will not win in Gaza, because Bibi needs Gaza and Hamas alive and breathing. Without them, the war will end. Without the war, state investigations will open - and Sara will lose her wits: and that cannot happen.
Therefore, Netanyahu went after Bar (who is a failure) and Miara (the communist), trying to stage a constitutional crisis (to buy more time) even though he personally likes the two very much and is coordinated with them (just as he was coordinated with Herzi Halevi) down to the smallest detail. All this with the knowledge that the Supreme Court, which Netanyahu himself gave endless power to over the past 20 years, will stop the move and help Bibi climb down from the tree.
By the way, a similar thing happened this week with the imaginary crisis with Chief of staff Eyal Zamir, which grabbed headlines for half a day. Zamir is a complete leftist, Netanyahu and the government members knew this - but as the famous Steely Dan song says, they need someone to do the dirty work for them - i.e., to take the blame for the fact that Bibi doesn't know and is unable to finish - his seed pipes are blocked.
Back to the fabricated move to fire Bar and Miara, Bibi stoked the flames, promised dismissals - in the end, everyone knows what happened. But the move did its job, further dividing Israeli public opinion, strengthening Netanyahu's crazy and leftist base (Netanyahu is a leftist leader), and incidentally, despite losing the campaign, the battle, and the war, suddenly the man who has hardly ever won a battle in his life can come and say - "I fought," and continue to provide excuses to his loser supporters as to why he is an extreme leftist loser.
But the real story is the collateral damage done. Police Commissioner Dani Levy began holding consultations above and below Minister Ben Gvir. Levy acted wisely. Like Mandelblit, Nitzan, and Alsheich, (Former key figures) he also saw that Bibi is a fake captain - and that everyone in his group is essentially spineless and uninspired - and immediately sided with the truly powerful - the people of the Supreme Court and the Shin Bet.
That's how it is in the jungle - you don't take orders from females.
Levy violated the chain of command, but as you recall, it all started with a famous media interview in which the Commissioner humiliated Ben Gvir on camera and said that he obeys the Bolshevik jurists in the Supreme Court and not Ben Gvir.
That staged battle by Netanyahu came at a real cost: It stripped Ben Gvir of both his authority and his relevance. And while the dust was still settling, Ben Gvir quietly ran to strike a deal with Attorney General Miara over his ministerial powers, all while crawling back into the same leftist government built on cynical blood-soaked bargains. Meanwhile, Israel continues to squander the Trump peace plan entirely.
But no one in their camp seems to notice. Fortunately for both Ben Gvir and the left-leaning Netanyahu, their supporters remain either too gullible or brain-dead to recognize the illusion. And the truth? They deserve every last moment of the humiliation they keep applauding.
