Detectives from the Yarkon District's Crime Fighting Unit arrested three Herzliya residents this morning (Sunday) on suspicion of involvement in a fatal assault that took place in the city over a month ago. The victim, who was found unconscious with severe injuries across his body, died in hospital last week after spending nearly a month sedated and on a ventilator.
The suspects, two men in their 30s and 50s and a woman in her 30s, were taken for questioning at the unit's offices. Police are expected to bring them before a court later today to request an extension of their detention as the investigation continues.
The incident began on August 22, when emergency services received a report of a violent incident at an apartment in Herzliya. Officers from the Glilot station who rushed to the scene found a man lying unconscious with serious injuries spread across his body. Magen David Adom paramedics provided life-saving treatment at the scene and evacuated him in critical condition to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.
Daniel Pinchas, a medic from MDA's motorcycle unit, described the scene that day: "We arrived at the location and saw two men suffering from serious injuries to their bodies, and one of them was unconscious. We provided them with life-saving medical treatment including respiratory support and evacuated them to the hospital in serious and moderate condition."
