Bystander Rams SUV into Driver to Stop Attempted Hit-and-Run on Ex-Partner

Dramatic footage from Ponca City, Oklahoma, shows the moment a passing driver intervened to stop a woman who police say was trying to run over her former partner.

The video shows the woman's car advancing toward the man as the driver of a red SUV crashes into her vehicle to block her path and prevent the attack from continuing.

Police then used an unmarked police SUV to further immobilize the car. The man was not injured in the incident, and officers arrested the driver, 61-year-old Ruth Ann Harper.

Harper was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property, driving under the influence of drugs, and reckless driving. According to court documents, officers found prescription medications in the vehicle, and one officer noted that Harper appeared to be under the influence of a substance and was unable to drive safely.
