Marcia Cross Named 'Antisemite of the Week' Over Israel Posts

The Jewish watchdog group StopAntisemitism has named actress Marcia Cross its "Antisemite of the Week" following a series of social media posts in which she made what the group described as "inflammatory, profanity-laced attacks" against Israel and its allies.

Cross, a 63-year-old actress best known for her roles in "Desperate Housewives" and "Melrose Place," shared content that suggested "gas chambers" were "far more merciful" than starvation in Gaza, according to the group's designation.

Justification for the Designation

In other posts highlighted by StopAntisemitism, Cross allegedly wrote:

"F*** YOU ISRAEL AND ALL OF YOUR SUPPORTERS USA GERMANY FRANCE," and continued, "YOU ARE THE BILE OF THE UNIVERSE AND THE ROT AT THE CORE OF ANYTHING DECENT."

The actress has also been accused by the group of using Holocaust education as a tool against Israel. According to the New York Post, she posted:

“What’s the point of Holocaust museums if they are silent in the face of genocide?”

Additionally, the watchdog group claims Cross has regularly promoted conspiracy theories about Israeli influence over American politics.

Liora Rez, the founder of StopAntisemitism, stated that Cross’s posts

"recycle classic antisemitic tropes, trivialize Jewish suffering, and deny Jewish legitimacy – language that puts Jewish communities at real risk both online and offline."
