Tragic Tree Collapse Claims Life of 12-Year-Old Boy in Buenos Aires Jewish Community
A shadow of grief has fallen over Buenos Aires as 12-year-old Michael Mordechai Habuba, son of a prominent local Rabbi, died after a tree collapsed at a "Heichal Hatorah" summer camp.

A heartbreaking incident occurred today when a tree fell on 12-year-old Michael Mordechai Habuba during a summer camp organized by the Haredi "Heichal Hatorah" community, resulting in fatal head injuries.
The boy, son of Rabbi David Habuba, head of the local "Chafetz Chaim" yeshiva, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his wounds despite intensive medical efforts.
The Jewish community in Buenos Aires rallied with an Atzeres Tefila (prayer assembly) for Michael's recovery, invoking his full Hebrew name, Michael Mordechai ben Shoshana Miriam, in hopes of a miracle. Tragically, he passed away hours later.
In line with Halacha (Jewish law), local Askanim (community activists) and Haredi business leaders are collaborating with authorities to prevent an autopsy, emphasizing respect for the deceased.
Argentine police have launched an investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the tree's collapse at the vacation site, aiming to determine any contributing factors.
This loss has deeply affected the tight-knit Haredi community in Buenos Aires, one of South America's largest Jewish populations, as they mourn the young boy's untimely death.
