Jerusalem Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Figure: Rabbi Moshe Chaim Aryeh, ztz"l, Passes Away at 80
The Rav was one of the well-known and beloved prominent figures in Jerusalem, and one of the city's early and respected residents, who left his mark on community life and the building of the city in holiness and simplicity.

Rabbi Moshe Chaim Aryeh, zt"l, tragically passed away this morning at the age of 80.
He was born in Iran on the 23rd of Iyar to his father, the righteous Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak, z"l.
During his childhood, he immigrated to the Holy Land, where he studied and delved into Torah at prestigious institutions, including the Yeshivas of Be'er Yaakov and Novardok.
He married the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Rachamim Bukhris, ztz"l, author of "Sifrei Lev Rachav" on the Torah and more.
Rabbi Aryeh, z"l, was known for his modest way of life, his simplicity, and his blessed endeavors. He was meticulous in educating his household and descendants in the ways of Torah, divine service, and fear of Heaven. His home was a house of Torah and kindness, from which emerged a blessed generation of upright people walking in his faithful paths.
As a Torah figure and admirer, Rabbi Moshe Chaim, zt"l, was deeply connected to the great rabbis of previous generations, including Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yehuda Tzadka, the kabbalist Rabbi Sasson Mizrachi, Rabbi Ben Zion Abba Shaul, Rabbi Chaim Zaitchik, Rabbi Ben Zion Brook (head of Novardok Yeshiva), the Steipler Gaon, and Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, zt"l.Rabbi Yehuda Tzadka, who knew him, asked him to serve as mashgiach at Porat Yosef Yeshiva, a role he held for many years.
A particularly shining chapter in the Rav's life was his devoted management of the unique educational institution on pure holiness, the school 'Orah VeSimcha'. Rabbi Sasson Mizrachi pushed him to help establish a holy education home for Jewish girls, saying it was more important for saving the generation. From then on, Rabbi Moshe Chaim took upon himself the burden of maintaining the 'Orah VeSimcha' institutions.
After the kabbalist's passing, the institution passed to Rabbi Moshe Chaim Aryeh's management, where he continued its holy path.
Under his leadership, the school produced thousands of female students over the years. The Rabbi, z"l, provided large families with a warm home where their daughters could flourish and be educated in holy ways, with emphasis on their special needs.
In his passing, he left behind a large family that continues his legacy and spiritual path.
His funeral procession will depart today (Monday) at 1:15 PM from Porat Yosef Yeshiva in the Geula neighborhood, en route to Sanhedria Cemetery in Jerusalem, where he will be laid to eternal rest.
Our sincere condolences to the dear family. May his memory be blessed, and may Heaven comfort them among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, with no more sorrow.
