Eisenkot, Liberman Meet Before Lapid Summit

Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman and Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot announced Tuesday that they met to discuss "coordinating bloc strategy" amid tensions within the opposition alliance.

According to a joint statement from the parties, "The two agreed to continue cooperation and implement the necessary actions, in coordination with the other parties in the bloc, to achieve victory in the election campaign, out of supreme commitment to replacing the government of the October 7th massacre."

The Eisenkot-Liberman meeting comes just ahead of a joint gathering of all "Change Bloc" leaders scheduled for Saturday night at opposition leader Yair Lapid's Tel Aviv home. Alongside Eisenkot and Liberman, Lapid will host Yachad chairman Naftali Bennett and Democrats party leader Yair Golan for "discussion on coordinating bloc moves."

This will mark the first time Lapid and all four party leaders have met together since the election campaign began. Notably absent from the invitation list are Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz.
