IDF and the "Shin Bet" announced today on the elimination of Wael Musa Khalid Ladawi, commander of Hamas's internal security in the Central Camps, In a successful strategic operation near the Deir al-Balah.
The attack took place in the last 24 hours as part of the IDF forces operations against threats in the Gaza Strip area.
In the joint statement by the IDF Spokesperson and the Shin Bet Spokesperson's unit, it was stated: "The IDF and the Shin Bet struck yesterday in the Deir al-Balah area, and eliminated the terrorist Wael Musa Khalid Ladawi, commander of the internal security of the Hamas terror organization in the Central Camps".
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, the internal security apparatus commanded by Ladawi is a central and secret mechanism within Hamas. Its activity focused, among other things, on gathering intelligence information for senior officials in the organization, which served them in decision-making processes.
It was further stated that the information gathered within the apparatus also aided in advancing actions against the State of Israel. "Under Ladawi's command, the apparatus engaged in gathering intelligence for the organization's senior officials, which assisted in decision-making and in promoting and executing terror attacks against the State of Israel", the statement read.
IDF and Shin Bet attributed to Ladawi a significant role in Hamas's internal structure in the Central Camps, both in the field of intelligence and in assisting the planning and promotion of the organization's activities.
The official announcement did not provide further details regarding the execution of the strike or other individuals targeted during it. The main focus of the announcement centered on Ladawi's role and the activity of the internal security apparatus under his command.
"IDF forces under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any threat", it was stated.
