Liberman Mocks Katz Warning on Gaza Hostage Scenario

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman sharply criticized Defense Minister Israel Katz on Tuesday, responding to Katz's warning about a potential soldier abduction scenario in Gaza.

"If three years after the massacre there is still intelligence about Hamas intentions to kidnap Israeli soldiers and civilians, this testifies more than anything to the bankruptcy of the October 7 massacre government. Hamas has not been defeated, security has not been restored, and Katz's statement is another joke for the collection of empty declarations by this government. Those who haven't defeated them in three years will never defeat them," he stated.

He was referring to Defense Minister Israel Katz's stark warning regarding the possibility of a soldier being abducted along the Yellow Line in Gaza.

Katz warned:

"We will not withdraw from the Yellow Line in Gaza to new deployment lines inside Gaza as long as Hamas is not removed and Gaza is not disarmed of weapons and tunnels.

In light of the intelligence, I warn from here the terror organization and its supporters, from Iran to Erdoğan: if one Israeli soldier or civilian is kidnapped, all of Gaza City, with its buildings and terror towers, will be evacuated southward of its million residents, as we did in Iron Chariots II, and will be dealt with in the same way that Rafah and Beit Hanoun and 70% of Gaza's territory were dealt with, until his return.

This is the language that the jihadist terror organizations in Gaza and Lebanon understand, and this is the language we speak: evacuation of the population, destruction of infrastructure, and taking the territory."
