United Torah Judaism Targets Working Haredim in Beit Shemesh as Battle for Haredi Vote Heats Up
With frustration growing toward the Haredi parties and the Haredi Public party gaining ground in recent days, United Torah Judaism is no longer taking any vote for granted and is stepping up its campaign on the ground. At the center of the fight are the thousands of working Haredim in Beit Shemesh, who could tip the balance in the battle for the Haredi vote. On Monday evening, candidate Dudi Zaltz is set to meet with working Haredim at the Beit Shemesh home of businessman Moshe Cohen. At the same time, UTJ chairman MK Yaakov Asher is due to visit Degel HaTorah’s activist headquarters in the city’s Ramat Avraham neighborhood. UTJ has set an ambitious target of 29,000 votes in Beit Shemesh alone, not counting the potential votes of residents moving into the city’s new neighborhoods.
