RJ Mitte, the actor known worldwide for his role as Walter White Jr. in the Emmy-winning drama series Breaking Bad, has died in what authorities are treating as a suspected suicide. He was 34.
According to TMZ, Mitte died Monday in Texas. An official in the county confirmed his death, and law enforcement sources said the circumstances are currently under investigation.
Mitte appeared in 56 episodes of Breaking Bad as Walter "Flynn" White Jr., the son of the show's protagonist Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston. Like his character, Mitte lived with cerebral palsy from childhood. Following the show's success, he became a prominent advocate and spokesperson for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the entertainment industry.
The news has shocked colleagues and fans. Earlier this month, Mitte posted cheerful updates to social media alongside Louis Moncada, who appeared with him in the acclaimed series. Mitte was engaged to his partner Kennedy Suarez, to whom he proposed last year.
