Desperate cry for healing
Daniel Gad Breaks the Silence With His Most Haunting Song Yet
Daniel Gad has just released “Ba Li BaLeilot” (“It Comes to Me at Night”) a deeply personal and shattering new single born from his role in the Kan 11 series HaHamam and from the excruciating period Israel has lived through since October 7.

Beloved actor, creator, and musician Daniel Gad drops his new single “Ba Li BaLeilot,” written in response to the character of Shaul that he portrays in the highly anticipated new Kan 11 thriller-drama HaHamam. Gad wrote the lyrics, while he composed the music together with Shauli Yitzhak and Or Kodai, who also handled the arrangement and musical production. The track was chosen as the official theme song for the series.“The character and the times led me to write it”
HaHamam offers a modern retelling of the biblical story of Saul and David, set within an elite paratrooper unit. Gad’s Shaul undergoes a harrowing psychological journey.
Gad shares: “It’s a drama-thriller full of mystery… Shaul goes through a challenging inner transformation. The combination of the character and the complex period we’re living through pushed me to write this song. I hope listeners will be sensitive to all the heroes, soldiers and civilians alike, who have been struggling since October 7."
An inner journey between memory and pain“Ba Li BaLeilot” dives into Shaul’s inner world,– a world where the hardest memories resurface precisely at night.
The anxiety is palpable from the very first lines:
“In the fog of dread / the ground shook / breath was snatched away / the sounds of mortars / still rattle the soul”The chorus drives home the relentless return of trauma:
“How does it always come back to me… it comes to me at night”
Interwoven are biblical echoes like “From the depths of Sheol my soul cries out,” alongside vivid images of war and existential questions.“Let go… and you will heal” – a cry for recovery. The second half portrays a fighter battling waves of intrusive thoughts, memories that won’t release their grip, and the struggle between light and darkness.
The healing line takes center stage:
“Let go, let go, let go – and you will heal.”
The song closes with a piercing, profound line:
“How have the mighty fallen - from kingdoms of the heart to chasing after honor.”
One of Israel’s standout actors in recent years, Daniel Gad is known for his roles in Shababnikim, The Policemen, Galiss, The Pier, and more. Alongside acting, he is steadily building a distinctive musical identity. his debut album was warmly received, and his tour was a success.
Over the past year, Gad has spoken openly about his personal journey of spiritual deepening and inner connection, a process clearly reflected in his honest, exposed, and deeply meaningful songwriting. The song’s purpose: to give voice to what goes unsaid.
“Ba Li BaLeilot” was written to articulate the psychological battles so many Israelis, both soldiers and civilians, have been facing since October 7.
Through the song, Gad seeks to make space for wounds that aren’t always visible from the outside and to remind us that mental-health struggles are an inseparable part of today’s reality. The powerful link between the biblical Shaul in the series and present-day Israeli reality has produced a song that speaks of trauma, resilience, and above all, the urgent need for healing.
