Detectives from the Etzion police station uncovered a drug distribution operation run by a man in his 30s from Efrat, in Gush Etzion, who is suspected of selling drugs to teenagers across the region and elsewhere in the country.
Police grew suspicious after noticing an unusually large volume of cereal boxes and registered mail shipments tied to the suspect. Executing a court warrant to search his home, detectives found more than 3.5 kilograms of cannabis, additional substances suspected to be drugs, drug preparation equipment, and other materials used in drug production. Some of the cannabis had been concealed inside boxes of a popular cereal brand.
Investigators also recovered long lists of dozens of customers, including teenagers, along with records detailing the distribution network and shipments sent via registered mail to cities across the country.
The suspect was taken in for questioning at the Etzion station. The drugs were seized and transferred to police custody for forensic testing at Israel Police labs. Following questioning, he was jailed and is expected to appear before a court later in the day for a remand extension. The investigation is ongoing.
