Airspace closure

El Al Just Cancelled EVERYTHING Until Tuesday (and What It Means for You!)

El Al and Sun Dor have suspended all flights until 2:00 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Ticket sales are frozen until March 21 to prioritize stranded passengers for upcoming rescue flights as Israel's airspace remains closed.

In response to the ongoing closure of Israeli airspace and directives from security agencies, El Al and its subsidiary Sun Dor have announced the cancellation of all scheduled flights through Monday, March 2, and into the early hours of Tuesday, March 3.

Key Schedule Changes:

* Cancellations: All flights scheduled to depart through 2:00 AM on Tuesday (March 3) are officially cancelled. This includes all corresponding return flights to Ben Gurion Airport.

* Sales Freeze: El Al has halted all new ticket sales until March 21, 2026.

* Purpose: The airline stated that the freeze is designed to ensure that once airspace reopens, priority is given to the thousands of existing ticket holders currently stranded abroad.

Rescue Flight Protocol

El Al is currently coordinating a massive "Rescue Flight" operation. Once aviation authorities grant approval for takeoff and landing:

1. Automatic Assignment: Passengers whose original flights were cancelled will be automatically assigned to the first available rescue flights.

2. Direct Notification: Customers will receive proactive updates via SMS or email regarding their new flight times.

3. Stay Put Advice: El Al is advising stranded passengers not to relocate to other global hubs at this time, as current assessments suggest rescue operations will be most effective from their existing locations.
