New Details: Fighter Jets Scrambled to Escort Wizz Air Flight to Ben Gurion Airport
Unusual security incident at Ben Gurion Airport: A passenger plane was escorted by fighter jets after crew spotted a network named "Terrorist" in Arabic on a phone.

An extremely unusual incident occurred in the skies over Ben Gurion Airport: A Wizz Air passenger plane en route to Israel landed at Ben Gurion escorted by fighter jets that were scrambled due to a suspected security incident, in accordance with standard protocol for such cases.
According to reports, the incident occurred after flight crew identified a network name on a phone that read "Terrorist" in Arabic. They reported this to security authorities in Israel, who scrambled the fighter jets.
According to the report by N12's Din Fisher, the phone belonged to an ultra-Orthodox couple. They claimed that their son had set up the phone for them before they returned to Israel.
The Incident Timeline
The flight, which departed from London hours earlier, was approaching landing at Ben Gurion when the fighter jets were scrambled. Simultaneously, security forces positioned themselves near the area designated for the aircraft's landing.
It remains unclear what exactly led to the scrambling of the jets. According to some reports, a passenger on the flight reported suspicious messages they saw on another passenger's phone screen. Other reports suggested passengers received threatening messages.
The plane subsequently landed safely at Ben Gurion and its passengers were asked to undergo inspection on the ground. As of now, no findings have been discovered indicating an actual security incident. The incident is currently under investigation.
The Israel Airports Authority stated: "Due to suspicion of suspicious behavior on the aircraft, security forces acted according to protocols. The incident has ended. The plane landed and it was found that there was no actual incident."
