Security Operation

Major Terror Plot Foiled in Israel

Shin Bet and police arrested approximately 12 suspects allegedly planning large-scale attacks; weapons and combat equipment seized in operation

Tel Aviv

Israel's Shin Bet security service and the police's Lahav 433 national crime unit have been investigating a serious security case in recent weeks, resulting in the arrest of approximately 12 significant suspects, according to a report by Lior Aish on i24 News. Authorities also confiscated various types of weapons and combat equipment believed to be connected to the suspects' alleged plans.

The investigation centers on suspicions that the detainees were establishing terror infrastructure intended to carry out large-scale attacks at multiple sites throughout Israel. A court-imposed gag order currently restricts publication of most details about the case, including information about the suspects and specific aspects of the investigation.

According to the working theory being examined by the Shin Bet and police, those arrested were actively working to build terror infrastructure and prepare for major attacks. Investigators continue working to determine the full scope of the alleged activity and the plans attributed to the suspects.

Security officials estimate that the operation prevented what could have been a significant mass-casualty event. The arrests and seizure of weapons and combat equipment are believed to have disrupted plans that were being prepared for execution at several locations across the country.

While multiple arrests have already been made, the investigation remains in its early stages. The Shin Bet and Lahav 433 continue examining the security case and connections between those involved, with expectations that additional arrests may follow as the probe advances.

Due to the publication ban, most details of the investigation remain classified at this stage. Information cleared for release focuses on the number of detainees, the weapons and combat equipment seized, and the suspicion that those involved were working to establish terror infrastructure and carry out large-scale attacks.

The ongoing investigation is expected to focus on the suspects' activities and the plans attributed to them. Meanwhile, security forces are preparing for the possibility of additional arrests as part of the case.
