Anat Angrest, the mother of kidnapped soldier Matan Angrest, announced that the family will release additional footage tonight (Monday) from the video showing the moments of his abduction.

“For 611 days, I avoided watching the full video showing the beginning of the lynching of my beloved son, Matan. Dozens of terrorists against one soldier,” Anat said. “Last night, I forced myself to watch it for the first time. We have no choice left. Matan is in mortal danger. We are compelled to release another segment of the video to the public tonight. We wish we could avoid this.”

She added, “In recent weeks, we embarked on a mission to gather information and materials to understand Matan’s medical condition. After meetings with former captives who met Matan, we discovered a huge gap between what was presented to us and the severe medical condition Matan is in. We were shaken, while the Prime Minister didn’t even know Matan was injured, we learned that Matan is suffering from open burns, infections, inflammations, and fever, alongside clear testimonies of torture and electric shocks.”

“Therefore, we have no choice but to show the public these horrific images, the lynching Matan endured on October 7, the story of his severe injury that was forgotten just because he is a soldier,” she concluded. “Because of that title, which should be a source of pride, our Matan was pushed aside and not deemed ‘humanitarian.’ Matan is in mortal danger, wounded and bleeding. We cannot abandon him (again). We’re sorry, our Matan. Don’t give up, because we won’t give up on you.”
