Deadly Gaza Ambush - More Details Revealed

Three soldiers from Israel’s Givati Brigade were killed in northern Gaza’s Jabalia area last night (Monday) after an explosive device detonated during a military operation, according to the IDF Spokesperson.

Details of the Ambush

The incident occurred at 7:00 p.m. in Jabalia. The convoy, consisting of Humvees and a fire truck, was tasked with extinguishing a Namer armored personnel carrier (APC) that had caught fire earlier that day during Shavuot.

After the fire truck returned to Israeli territory, Hamas activated a field of 20 explosive devices targeting the convoy. One device exploded near an open Humvee carrying the three soldiers, killing them instantly. The IDF noted that Hamas had planned to detonate all the devices to cause a mass casualty event.

In response, the Israeli Air Force launched strikes using drones and fighter jets to neutralize the terror infrastructure, enabling the safe extraction of the convoy and casualties from the area.
