Five-Year-Old Child Dies After Being Hit By a Car Near Gilat Junction

 A 5-year-old boy died following a severe accident on Highway 241. The child was struck by a car, leading to a chain-reaction crash that overturned two vehicles and injured four others.

A devastating traffic accident occurred near the Gilat Junction on Highway 241 in southern Israel, leaving a five-year-old boy in critical condition and four others injured.

The incident began around 4:00 PM when a five-year-old boy, identified as wearing tzitzit, was struck by a vehicle while walking along the road. The initial collision triggered a secondary chain-reaction accident involving two other vehicles. According to first responders, the impact was so severe that some of the vehicles overturned at the scene.

Magen David Adom (MDA) and United Hatzalah teams arrived to a scene of "great chaos."

The child was found unconscious, without a pulse, and not breathing. He suffered a **severe head injury. Medics performed advanced resuscitation (CPR) on-site and during the emergency transport to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva. He remains in critical condition in the trauma unit.

Other Victims: A 38-year-old man in moderate condition with abdominal injuries.

A 42-year-old woman in moderate condition with limb injuries.

Two additional individuals** sustained light injuries.

Ronit Shitrit, a United Hatzalah paramedic who was first on the scene, described the situation: :This was an accident involving three vehicles that overturned and a child pedestrian who was severely injured in the head. I provided medical aid while performing CPR before he was evacuated to Soroka."

MDA paramedics Hodayah Sheli, Israel Geula, and Shilat Hadad added that the child was in a state of clinical death when they arrived. "We started advanced resuscitation measures, including massages and ventilation, and evacuated him in an intensive care unit vehicle."

Unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
