As the head of the Intelligence Headquarters, Maklad was a central figure in Hezbollah's strategic planning and was responsible for gathering and analyzing intelligence used to execute Military analysts describe this as a "major blow" to Hezbollah's internal command and control, further blindfolding the organization’s remaining field commanders as the conflict intensifies.

. The IDF stated that the elimination is part of the ongoing effort to degrade Hezbollah’s infrastructure and leadership across Lebanon.

The strike on Maklad comes amid a massive escalation on Israel's northern border, where the IDF is conducting wide-scale operations to push Hezbollah forces away from the border and neutralize their long-range missile capabilities.
