In Lebanon, especially in Shiite areas, Hezbollah supporters have put up new billboards against Prime Minister Najaf Salam, against the backdrop of his decision to act to disarm the terror organization.
The billboards accuse Salam of being "without tribe and without God," and in addition, Salam's picture is adorned with a Star of David. Hezbollah frequently labels the current government as "servants of the Zionists" since it decided on its disarmament.
The campaign comes against the backdrop of growing tensions between the government and Hezbollah, as the state tries to ensure that military weapons remain only in the hands of the state, in accordance with American and international pressure. The terror organization, for its part, rejects the new measures and warns of the "chaos" that could be created.
A few weeks ago, an organization commissioner called on the Lebanese government to refrain from disarming, and called the plan "a service to the Israeli-American administration." He warned that continuing these steps could harm the state's stability and even provoke demonstrations directed against government institutions and foreign embassies.
