In a distressing and exclusive interview set to air in full on Weekend News, former hostage Guy Gilboa Dalal has bravely disclosed details of the horrific sexual abuse he endured during his two years in Hamas captivity. The following segment, released today (Wednesday), is difficult to read.

Gilboa Dalal, who survived 738 days in the tunnels of Gaza, revealed the agonizing encounter with a Hamas terrorist who held him captive.

Gilboa Dalal’s Harrowing Account

Recounting the abuse, Gilboa Dalal described a moment when one of his captors allowed him to shower: "He lets me shower, and when I finish the shower, he drags me out of there and doesn't let me put on my clothes."

He continued, detailing the subsequent events: "He takes me back to their room, and then he throws me onto one of their armchairs."

The survivor then recounted the sexual assault: "He started touching me all over my body. I froze. I told him: 'You’re kidding, right? That’s forbidden in Islam.' He pressed a rifle to my head and a knife to my throat. He told me that if I told anyone about this, he would kill me."

Gilboa Dalal, now undergoing a difficult and slow process of physical and psychological recovery after two years in what he describes as hell, has asked for public assistance for the complex period ahead.

Testimonies of Sexual Violence and Torture

Gilboa Dalal’s testimony aligns with other brave accounts from survivors who have recently returned from Hamas captivity, detailing systematic torture, degradation, and sexual violence.

Aviva Siegel recounted the sexual abuse endured by women and girls held with her. She shared that one young woman emerged from the shower shaking after a terrorist had "touched her all over her body and did as he pleased with her." She also described a girl, only 16, who was forced to shower in front of a Hamas terrorist: "She is 16," Aviva said, her voice breaking. "She never showed her body to anyone. A Hamas terrorist just stood there, looked at her, and smiled." She concluded that witnessing the torture of her husband and the actions against the girls was the most difficult thing to endure.

Gilboa Dalal recently addressed the public at Hostages Square, saying he stood there after two difficult years that felt like an eternity, fueled by the hope he saw in the photographs from the square. He concluded his remarks by imploring the public not to forget the three remaining captives: Ran, Dror, and Suthisak, stating: "The job is not done until everyone returns, until the last captive."
