Mike Huckabee working to prevent elections in Israel

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee is working to help prevent the government from breaking up and forcing early elections in Israel, according to a report today (Monday) by Channel 13.

According to the report, Huckabee has been in meetings with senior Haredi MKs and Rabbis, telling them that the stability of the Israeli government is vital for dealing with the Iranian threat, and new elections and even possible deadlocked Knessets could seriously hamstring the efforts against Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been working hard to prevent the coalition crisis from breaking up the government, is reportedly aware of and approves of Huckabee's efforts.

However, all three Haredi parties have said that at the present time, the effort to find a compromise on the draft has made no progress, and that as of now, the government is set to begin to fall this Wednesday when a vote is held on the disbanding of the Knesset.
