Operation Gideon's Chariots is in full swing with five divisions operating throughout the Gaza Strip today (Sunday) to eliminate remaining Hamas military formations.

As efforts to reach a hostage deal acceptable to Israel continue, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fulfilling his promise to "negotiate under fire" and pressure Hamas into a deal acceptable to Israel by finally launching the threatened military operation to occupy large parts of the Gaza Strip.

A defense source speaking to Army Radio reporter Doron Kadosh said that the army has launched a number of simultaneous offensives in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.

Reported plans include the creation of additional strips or corridors to further divide and isolate portions of the Gaza Strip from each other, making it more difficult for Hamas and other terrorist groups to reinforce each other.
