ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING

Fallen Soldier Aviaad Volansky's Father Bids Him a Final Farewell

Sergeant Aviaad Volansky was laid to rest at Mount Herzl today. His father, Yair Volansky, the Defense Establishment Comptroller, issued an emotional plea to Israel’s political and military leadership, urging them to continue the fight in Lebanon until "total victory" is achieved.

It was a heavy, emotional day at Mount Herzl on Friday as friends, family, and top officials gathered to say goodbye to Sergeant Aviaad Elchanan Volansky. The 21-year-old from Jerusalem was killed in action yesterday during intense fighting against terrorists in Southern Lebanon.

The funeral brought out some of the country’s biggest political and military names, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, all standing in silence to honor the young soldier.

But the moment that really shook everyone was the eulogy from Aviaad’s father, Yair Volansky. Yair isn't just a grieving father; he’s a Brigadier General in the reserves and the current Comptroller for the entire defense establishment. Standing over his son’s grave, he didn't just talk about loss, he made a direct, tearful demand to the government and the army.

"Do everything you have to do until we get that total victory," he cried out, looking toward the senior officers and politicians in the crowd. He spoke directly to the Northern Command and the soldiers in the 7th Armored Brigade, telling them, "I know you’re with me on this. Keep doing everything to keep Israel safe."

He didn't hold back, calling on the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister to stay strong and make sure the country’s future is secure, no matter what it takes. "Finish what they started," he urged, speaking for all the families who have lost loved ones in the north.

As the Volansky family starts their week of mourning, the IDF is still pushing hard across the border, hitting Hezbollah targets and trying to clear out the threats that took Aviaad’s life. For those at the funeral, the message was clear: the best way to honor Aviaad is to finish the job.
