Iran launched several ballistic missiles overnight targeting Kurdish positions across the border, as part of a continuing wave of strikes.

During another night of intense activity in eastern Iran, the missiles reportedly targeted what Tehran describes as “Kurdish terrorist organizations.” Iranian authorities have presented the launches as a “military exercise,” though regional sources say the operation appears offensive in nature.

According to regional sources, the missile launches occurred in recent hours and involved medium-range systems fired from central provinces in Iran. The exact impact points have not been officially released, though reports indicate strikes in mountainous areas in eastern Iran.

Al-Mayadeen, citing a source within the IRGC, says that no launches have taken place, while Reuters claims that "it's just an exercise".

Security officials in the region note that the launches are part of a broader campaign by Iran over the past weeks, aimed at curbing what they describe as “Kurdish separatist activity".
