Winds of war
Iran Threatens Israel: We are Ready and Waiting
In statements carried by Iranian state media and reported by Israeli outlets, Hatami emphasized Iran's enhanced military readiness following the 12-day war in 2025, claiming the country is now "stronger than before."

Iran's army commander, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, issued a stark warning to Israel on Tuesday, asserting that the Islamic Republic is fully prepared for any potential attack from the "Zionist regime" or its allies, including the United States.
"The preparations we have made in the last six months after the 12-day war are fully adapted to the type of threats," Hatami stated during a briefing with members of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy.
"Today, we are stronger than the period before the war. The threat of the Zionist regime against Iran is real, and therefore, we take it seriously and prepare accordingly."
"If the enemy makes a mistake, they will receive a decisive response, we will cut off the hand of any aggressor," he added, echoing rhetoric from Iran's leadership during past confrontations.
With unconfirmed reports of U.S. naval reinforcements in the Persian Gulf and spikes in the "Pentagon Pizza Index" suggesting heightened activity, the region braces for more bloodshed and (a hopefully impending) U.S. response.
