Israel has signed an agreement with an American company to begin delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, according to a report today (Thursday) by Channel 12 News.

Meanwhile, US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff presented an appeal to the UN Security Council, in which he laid out America's detailed plan for a new, independent mechanism for delivering aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, under the aegis of the newly established Gaza Humanitarian Foundation or GHF, according to Ynet.

According to the document he sent and which reached Ynet, the GHF will establish four safe distribution sites which will serve up to 300,000 people, thus serving 1.2 million Gazans. The mechanism would bypass existing aid agencies and organizations, whom the IDF and Israel have accused of being too close to Hamas.

The aid distribution will be given advice by former senior officials at the UN World Food Programme and World Central Kitchen, and will be the first true test of an attempt by the US and Israel to bypass the current aid system, which Hamas was able to ransack to feed its terrorists and resell to the public to renew its funds.

Multiple ministers fiercely criticized the previous framework of aid provision on the grounds that Hamas got most of it, leading to a lengthening of the war, more dead IDF soldiers and possibly dead hostages.
