Large forces of Israeli Police and the Civil Administration raided Givat Or Nachman in Binyamin, north of Jerusalem, at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, and completely destroyed the homes of the three families who lived there.
The demolition was carried out without any warning, and the children of the families were taken out of bed and forced to watch their home destroyed by a bulldozer. Arab workers were brought to the site to help with the demolition and removal of the equipment, but some of the families who wanted to remove additional items from the house were refused, and the kitchen utensils and furniture that remained were also shredded in the rubble of the house.
During the demolition, the Civil Administration also demolished the solar electricity system on the hill, which was the only source of electricity for the families. In order to prevent a Jewish presence in the area, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolev, imposed a closed military zone order on Or Nachman for an entire month.
