WATCH: Hikers trapped as raging fire engulfs Nahal Prat

We will update as details become available.

A huge fire broke out recently in Nahal Prat.

Because the fire is in Nahal Prat’s western path, contained by a natural pool, it has limited ground access for rescue teams.

Estimates suggest around 500 hikers are in the area and aerial searches are underway to locate and help them.

Other reports say that there are at least 100 hikers are in Nahal Prat, with no immediate reports of life-threatening danger.

Firefighters are working to rescue hikers, and firefighting planes have been deployed.

The IDF is mobilizing the Ram Battalion of the Home Front Command to assist in evacuating hikers.

In addition, Unit 669 has been deployed to Nahal Prat.

Magen David Adom (MDA)'s Spokesperson issued this statement: "At 15:07, a report was received at MDA's 101 emergency call center in the Jerusalem region regarding a fire in Wadi Kelt, between Kfar Adumim and Alon.

MDA paramedics and medics, who are near the fire site, are securing the firefighting operations and report that hikers in the area are currently being evacuated in stages.

At this stage, there are no casualties.

Further updates will be provided if necessary."

The Police Spokesperson said:

"Following reports of a fire in Nahal Prat below the Nofei Prat settlement in Binyamin, there is currently no danger to hikers or residents in the area.

The Judea and Samaria District Commander, Chief Superintendent Moshe Pinchi, is conducting an initial situation assessment at the scene. Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District, volunteers from the Dead Sea Scrolls Rescue Unit, the police aerial unit, together with firefighting forces, the IDF, and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, are continuing efforts to gain full control of the fire and are working to evacuate hikers in the area."
