"I Can't Believe It:" Netanya Floods After Heavy Rain

Heavy rainfall caused significant flooding in Netanya on Tuesday, after intense showers hit the city and surrounding areas during the morning hours.
According to meteorological data, approximately 20 millimeters of rain fell within a single hour, overwhelming drainage systems and leading to widespread flooding in several neighborhoods. Video footage shared by residents showed streets submerged in water, with vehicles partially flooded.
Emergency services reported that three women, including a young child, were trapped on the roof of a vehicle after floodwaters rose rapidly around them. Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene and assisted in bringing them to safety.
“I can’t believe what’s happening in Netanya. Everything is underwater,” one resident was heard saying in footage circulating on social media.
The Israel Meteorological Service said the weather today is partly cloudy across most of the country, with local rainfall primarily in northern Israel and along the coastal plain. Isolated thunderstorms were reported in the north, alongside concerns about additional localized flooding.
Wednesday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy to clear skies, with a slight rise in temperatures. Light drizzle is possible in the morning along the coast. Thursday is expected to remain partly cloudy with no significant temperature changes, though strong easterly winds may develop in the northern mountains and the Shomron.
