The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Tuesday that a precise aerial strike in the central Gaza Strip has eliminated Anus Muhammad Ibrahim Hamed. Hamed was a high-ranking commander within the Nukhba force of the Hamas terrorist organization, the elite unit responsible for many of the worst atrocities of the October 7 invasion. Military intelligence identified him as a key leader among the terrorists who infiltrated Israeli territory and targeted civilians at the Nova music festival.

According to the IDF, the strike was launched after Hamed was identified as posing an imminent threat to Israeli ground troops currently operating within the Gaza Strip. The military used precise munitions and real-time aerial surveillance to track his movements before authorizing the attack. This elimination is part of a broader effort to systematically track down and remove all Hamas commanders who played a direct role in the brutal massacre of Israeli citizens.

The military emphasized that extensive measures were taken prior to the strike to minimize the risk to non-combatants in the area. These steps included the use of advanced technology to ensure the target was isolated and that the munitions used would provide the most accurate hit possible. The IDF has maintained that while it is aggressively pursuing the architects of the October 7 tragedy, it remains committed to reducing civilian harm through intelligence-led operations.

The death of Hamed marks another significant blow to the Hamas command structure in central Gaza, particularly within the Nukhba units. These fighters were the first to cross the border and were responsible for the slaughter, rape, and kidnapping of hundreds at the festival site. The IDF stated that such operations will continue until all those who participated in or orchestrated the October 7 attacks are brought to justice or removed from the battlefield.

As the war continues, the military is increasingly focusing on these high-value targets who represent a direct link to the initial invasion. The elimination of Hamed provides a sense of closure to the families of the victims of the Nova festival, though the IDF warned that the situation in Gaza remains fluid and dangerous. Ground troops remain on high alert for retaliatory attacks as they continue their mission to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure across the strip.
