Moshe Har-Zion, founder of the Artzi movement and son of legendary Israeli fighter Meir Har-Zion, announced Tuesday that he is joining the Amcha Yisrael party led by former IDF Colonel Ofer Winter.
Har-Zion established Artzi as a movement dedicated to strengthening Israeli agriculture, rural communities, and the country's farming sector. The organization works to bolster Israeli agricultural production, protect state lands from encroachment and agricultural crime, and advocate for recognizing agriculture as national infrastructure.
The younger Har-Zion currently lives at Ahuzat Shoshana farm in the Lower Galilee. His father, Meir Har-Zion, was a storied commando in the IDF's early decades. Moshe Har-Zion previously publicly supported the Derech Eretz party led by Yoaz Hendel and Zvi Hauser.
In a statement, Har-Zion said: "I am pleased to join the Amcha Yisrael party led by Colonel (res.) Ofer Winter. Winter represents the values I was raised on and believe in: defeating the enemy and settlement in our land. I intend to represent within the party the people of the land, agriculture, and the rural sector. I believe in the great importance of new forces entering the political arena, especially after October 7th. The Amcha Yisrael party represents this in the best way."
