Birdnappers on the loose
Six rare birds and dozens of parrots stolen in Biblical Zoo break-In
Zoo officials suspect a sophisticated animal trafficking operation behind the daring Jerusalem heist.

The Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem fell victim to a meticulously planned break-in late Wednesday night, resulting in the theft of six rare birds and approximately 20 brightly colored Loriini parrots.
Security footage from the scene shows three intruders entering the premises. Authorities believe the suspects had been surveilling the area for an extended period, carefully studying the zoo’s security system and targeting specific animals of high value.
"We believe that these are animal traffickers who knew exactly what to steal," said Sigalit Hertz, the zoo’s director. "We are in contact with the police and the Nature and Parks Authority, and right now we are analyzing the information, hoping to find them and return them quickly and safely to the zoo."
In response to the incident, police have launched a formal investigation, and the zoo is already taking steps to bolster its security infrastructure in an effort to prevent future break-ins.
