This War with Iran Will Be Different
Regional Iron Dome: How Arab Nations Might Help Defend Israel from Iran
As the threat of a retaliatory Iranian missile strike grows, Israel is coordinating with the U.S. and regional Arab partners to activate a massive integrated defense network.

With the Middle East on the edge of a major escalation, the Israeli Security Cabinet is convening to finalize defensive and offensive plans in total coordination with the United States. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, fresh from his meeting with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago, understands that the lead on this operation is firmly in American hands. Israel is preparing for various scenarios, including the possibility that Iran may launch ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, or drones at Israeli cities in response to American intervention. To counter this, the regional interception network operated by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) from its base in Qatar is being placed on the highest alert level.
Unlike the previous 12 day war in June, which was an Israeli initiative, the current situation involves a much broader coalition. Regional neighbors, including several Arab states, are expected to assist in the interception of Iranian projectiles as part of a collective defense strategy. The Israeli Cabinet is also reviewing plans to transition to an offensive campaign against Iranian interests worldwide, as well as against proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, both of which are attempting to rebuild their capabilities. Israeli intelligence remains skeptical of any new nuclear deal, viewing the regime’s recent calls for negotiations as a mere stalling tactic to avoid an American hammer blow.
The personal relationship between Trump and Netanyahu remains a central factor in the unfolding strategy. While Trump is viewed as deeply pro Israel, he is also notoriously unpredictable, and Israeli officials are preparing for sudden changes in policy. "The President is pro Israel, but he is currently even more pro Bibi," one senior official remarked, noting that Trump’s respect for the Prime Minister ensures a level of coordination rarely seen in international relations. As Israel prepares its embassies and Jewish communities around the world for potential Iranian provocations, the nation remains in a state of high readiness, waiting for the final decision from the White House that could change the face of the region forever.
