Starting today (Wednesday, November 1, 2023), the obligation to turn on the lights for vehicles traveling on interurban roads applies throughout all hours of the day.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Transportation, trucks, buses, taxis, and motorcycles are required to turn on their lights even on urban roads, and two-wheeled riders must ride with their lights on throughout the entire year and on all roads. The penalty for non-compliance with this regulation is two demerit points on the driver's license and a fine of 100 shekels.

It is worth noting that safety experts recommend driving with lights on throughout the entire year, on all types of vehicles and on all roads, and not turning off the lights when the regulation ends on April 1st.
