A poll released by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research shows overwhelming support in Judea and Samaria or the West Bank (82% in support, 12% opposed) for Hamas' attack on October 7, even given what happened after it, with more muted support in the Gaza Strip (57% in support, 37% opposed).

The poll also asked whether those polled had seen videos of the October 7 Massacre. 85% said that they had not seen the videos, and just 5% in the West Bank and 17% said that Hamas had committed war crimes at all.

When asked who they think will rule in the Gaza Strip when the war is over, 51% in the Gaza Strip and 73% in Judea and Samaria said Hamas will rule.

Answers were more divided on who should rule in Gaza when the war ended: 75% in Judea and Samaria said Hamas, but people in the Gaza Strip were split: 38% said Hamas should, 16% said the PA under Mahmoud Abbas, 23% said a national unity government with Abbas, and 7% said one or more Arab countries.

When it comes to support for Palestinian parties, there was a slight increase in support for Hamas in the Gaza Strip compared to September of this year (42% compared to 32% in Sept.) and a decrease in support for Fatah from 25% to 18%.

In Judea and Samaria, by contrast, support for Hamas shot up from 12% in September to 44% in December, with support for Fatah declining from 26% in September to 16% in December.
