The office of President Isaac Herzog announces that tonight (Sunday) at 21:00 he will deliver a special speech to the nation, this at the beginning of the 12th week of the war.
This is President Herzog's second speech to the nation since the seventh of October, when the previous time it was on the second day of combat.
Herzog against the UN: "a decisive failure"
Last week, President Isaac Herzog met with the President of the Senate in France, Gérard Larcher, who came to support Israel. In his words, Herzog claimed that it is possible to provide more humanitarian aid to Gaza - but he clarified that this is not possible because of "a decisive failure of the United Nations".
"This war is an existential war against a terrible terrorist organization, similar to ISIS, which led a sick, barbaric, sadistic campaign, on the seventh of October, since then every day we see a glass of tears that is refilled with tragedies that are unceasing," Herzog said. "This is an attack that has nothing to do with the issues of the dispute between us and the Palestinians, this is a world view that came from an extreme fundamentalist view within the Islamic world, a jihadist view that does not believe in any Western and liberal world view and does not recognize the existence of the Jewish people here in their country."
