US bets on Qatar to prevent war in Lebanon
A Qatari envoy is headed to Lebanon with American support to try and get Hezbollah to deescalate the border war in the north before it becomes a general war.

Qatari envoy Abou Fahad Jassem Al-Thani will soon visit Beirut to try and get Hezbollah and affiliated terrorist groups to deescalate the border war in the north and prevent a general Lebanon War, according to Naharnet.
Per the report, the visit will be "coordinated with the U.S. administration, which has asked Doha to exert efforts in this regard."
Sources quoted by the report said that "The U.S. administration is betting that the Qatari pressures on the Hamas Movement to accept U.S. President Joe Biden’s proposal for ending the war in the Gaza Strip, combined with a bigger Qatari intervention on the Lebanese arena, specifically with Hezbollah, could lead to a breakthrough that prevents an all-out war."
Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Beirut issued a travel advisory today to US citizens to "strongly reconsider travel to Lebanon," saying that "the security environment remains complex and can change quickly."
The Embassy further warned US citizens in the country that "the Lebanese government cannot guarantee the protection of U.S. citizens against sudden outbreaks of violence and armed conflict."
This advisory comes after multiple countries including Germany, Canada, Kuwait, and others have advised their citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible, a sign that war may be imminent in the north.
