IDF Rear Command announced today (Sunday) that it has completed the operationalizing of a system for sending cell-broadcast or CB based messages to all cellphone users in the country in the event of any emergency, including rocket fire. The system does not require the downloading of an app or any action on the part of a user.

Meanwhile, the IDF Spokesperson is set to make a statement to the press at 6:30 PM Israel Time today. According to Channel 12 News, the Spokesperson will seek to calm a public on edge waiting for the Iranian retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Iranian officials have reportedly told Arab diplomats that they have no intention to scale back their response to the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, even if such an action leads to war, according to sources familiar with the conversations speaking to the Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the IDF's Ground Technology Division today, which is responsible for providing operational technological solutions for problems on the battlefield.

"I examined the deployment of IDF forces both in defense and on offense," he said at the end of the meeting. "We are very prepared in defense - on the ground and in the air - and we are ready to move quickly to the offensive or a response. We will exact a cost, as we are doing in recent days, from the enemy. If they dare to attack us, they will pay a heavy price."
