Report: US aircraft carrier withdraws from Middle East
In a strategic move, Defense Secretary Austin recalls the USS Theodore Roosevelt, raising questions about regional stability.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday ordered the recall from the Middle East of the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, which was sent to the region after the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and senior Hezbollah official Fouad Shukar, ABC reported.
U.S. commanders in the Middle East argue that the presence of a U.S. aircraft carrier and associated warships has been an effective deterrent in the region, especially for Iran. According to various reports, since the outbreak of the war on October 7, there has been a continuous presence of warships in the area.
At the same time, it was reported that the American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which arrived in the Gulf of Oman a few weeks ago, would remain in the area to warn the Iran to refrain from taking any action against Israel.
