Historic: Brazilian Delegation Visits Israel to Strengthen Fight Against Antisemitism
A high-profile delegation of Brazilian congress members and diplomats made a significant visit to Israel this week, focused on reinforcing international advocacy efforts and combating the rising tide of global antisemitism.

The delegation’s visit was organized by Nechama and Hatzalah for Israel, an organization that has been instrumental in assisting evacuees from Israel’s northern and southern regions during Operation Swords of Iron.
The group was led by renowned Brazilian philanthropist Mrs. Alessandra Safra, a long-time supporter of Israel, and included a series of high-level meetings and impactful tours throughout Israel. Among the most notable events was a visit to the Knesset, where the delegation met with Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and other senior Israeli officials. Discussions focused on deepening ties between Israel and the Jewish diaspora, enhancing global advocacy, and addressing the urgent need to combat antisemitism in a time of rising hatred worldwide.
The delegation also toured southern Israel’s most affected communities, including Kfar Aza, Be’eri, and the site of the Nova festival attack. Moshiko Moskowitz, the CEO of Nechama and Hatzalah for Israel, briefed the group on the aftermath of the October 7th massacre, providing a firsthand look at the devastation wrought by the recent conflict. Delegates were deeply moved by the scale of destruction and the suffering of Israeli civilians, expressing their unwavering support for Israel in this difficult time.
A particularly emotional moment came during the delegation’s visit to Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The experience underscored the continued importance of Holocaust education and the ongoing battle against antisemitism. The delegation left with a reinforced sense of purpose in supporting Israel’s advocacy efforts and strengthening tolerance worldwide.
Moshiko Moskowitz expressed his gratitude for the visit, emphasizing that the fight against antisemitism is just as crucial as Israel’s military defense. "International cooperation and the support of our allies are critical in ensuring a safer future for Jewish communities worldwide," he said. Mrs. Alessandra Safra’s steadfast commitment to Israel and her advocacy efforts were recognized as invaluable in this ongoing global struggle.
