Total insanity

Hamas to decide where released terrorists go, not Israel

Outrage grows as it is revealed that Israel has no say in the deportation destinations of freed terrorists, leaving victims’ families in distress over their potential escape to comfortable exile.

Determining where the terrorists released in the hostages deal will be deported – to Gaza or abroad – is not left to Israeli decision makers, according to a report by N12.

According to the report, Avraham Weissman, whose son Yanai Weissman was murdered in a terror attack almost a decade ago, recently submitted a request to the National Security Council to make sure that those who murdered his son would not be released abroad but would be deported to the Gaza Strip.

The bereaved father submitted his request to the state - in order to prevent those damned terrorists who killed his son from enjoying and pampering themselves abroad.

In response to the father's inquiries, the National Security Council replied that the political echelon, i.e., the Israeli government, is not authorized to determine where each terrorist will be released, and cannot commit to the release of the terrorists to the Gaza Strip or abroad.

According to the National Security Council: "The government decision that approved the outline for the release of the Israeli abductees set a condition for certain terrorists, among other things, that their release would be to the Gaza Strip or abroad."

According to them, "This condition does not include a mechanism for determining the destination to which the terrorist will be transferred – the Gaza Strip or abroad, so unfortunately it is not possible to accede to your client's request."

Wolfson later added that the decision makers are "not the government of Israel." He wrote: "Since the government decision approving the outline for the return of Israeli hostages did not establish a mechanism in which the government was given the authority to determine the destination to which the terrorist is transferred, those who make the decisions regarding the destination of the transfer are not elements in the Israeli government."

Attorney Haim Bleicher of the Honenu organization, which represents the bereaved father, said: "It is shocking to discover that the State of Israel is releasing murderous terrorists without control over the destination to which they are released."
